EXTREMELY HORRIBLE TIRES...WASTE OF HARD EARNED MONEY
I know a few people and myself that have the same complaint that I most commonly read in reviews, "Very noisy with bad vibrations". I don't get it, supposedly Michelin has been a leading tire manufacturer over the years, so I had decided to give them a try by having the commander II's installed on my Softail. I was quite happy for the most part. When I got my '15 Street Glide I had the Commander III's installed resulting in road noise and vibration. I bought them online from a supplier and had local shop install them. Because I did not purchase them through the local shop they would not cover warranty. I then immediately bought another round for my bike just to get issue taken care of quickly. Needless to say, same problems plus I'm out a whole wad of cash at this point and as we all know install costs for m-cycle tires can get VERY costly. After nearly several thousand miles on Florida roads the humming noise & vibration is nearly gone. I use a 180/65 16 for rear tire and I can firmly say that they suck for wet roads, they also do NOT provide a smooth ride while taking steep angled turns on dry roads @ normal highway speeds of 45 - 55 mph as it feels like your rear tire is just about to enter the "Infamous Death Wobble". Please note that I keep my tires at manufacturer recommended psi, and I have Legend Revo A shocks on rear, which I'm happy with, the preload / SAG of shocks are set to the manufacturer's recommendation. I will NEVER use Michelin products on any of my vehicles ever again. In my honest and truthful opinion of the aforementioned.....BUYER BEWARE
Great tires for GCC roads
I'm riding my road glide every day, to commute between home and work, and do long rides on a weekly basis. I've been recommended to use Michelin Commander III tires instead of Dunlop Harley stock tires for the GCC roads. No regrets at all, had a strange vibration when the tires were brand new, and could have a very good feeling after few hundreds of KMs. Used it mainly in mountain kinky roads, heavy rain, a bit of unwanted off road in Oman wadis, the tires are still in very good condition after 9 months and almost 25,000 KMs of usage, the tires are still in very good condition without quality drop.
Vibration customer service no help
Nothing but problems with the front commander three on my FLHTK. The 130/80b/17 has a horrible vibration at 65 miles per hour. Was told by customer service that this tire is not recommended for my FLHTK. However authorized dealers such as JP cycles and Dennis Kirk show this to be a exact fit. I pointed this out to customer service and still no help. This tire has been balanced three times at my expense and still same issue. Customer service supposedly pass this on to the motorcycle tire division over three weeks ago and have heard nothing from them. I replaced the tire brand not important and zero issues now. I have rand commander twos in the past and now feel betrayed by Michelin
can feel vibration coming up from road in handlebars
vibration at low speed seems to stop during lean then starts again when straight deal braker
Horrible vibration
Horrible vibration ant any speed. 15mph to 40 is pretty bad. 65-70 feels like wheel is hopping.

Terrible Hummer
Front tire since day 1 has vibrated in the handle barS at low speeds and moves to the floor boards at higher speeds.. The dealer said nothing is wrong. I brought it to several mechanics to check the front end and bearingS and they are fine.. This is a MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THE EARLY COMMANDER 3.. If you lean side to side it goes away.. THE TIRE ALSO HAS A LINE WEARING IN THE CENTER almost like its going to come apart.. i would give a zero if ;possible.. I called in a started a case and its impossible to get through or get a tire... These should be recalled.
Hi Joey Thank you for your review of 06-02-2022. We are sorry you are experiencing issues with your MICHELIN Commander III tires. Please bring your bike in to a local dealer for inspection or contact Michelin Consumer Care at 800-346-4098. You probably see the Zebrure Strip or Anti-Static Strip on your tire. This is a fine slice of rubber that offers greater conductivity enabling the vehicle to discharge its static electricity into the ground. This unique visual feature on the tread is totally neutral as far as the performance of the tread is concerned (longevity, grip, etc.). Please check with your local dealer to confirm or send us a private message on our facebook page with a picture in case of doubt.

Do not buy commander 3s for bikes with fairings
I have had 2 experiences with these style of tire. The first was my indian scout sixty. On the indian this style of tire was great. Now I have my 2021 road glide special and once these tires were but on I got a slight vibration through my handle bars. Like everyone else I get the bike checked out once tires are replaced the vibration goes away. Now the vibration is bad during speeds of 40mph and 50mph. I hate that these tires do this cause I really liked them on my smaller bike. I also hate that there are multiple reviews of this vibration but the company will not refund the money of a tire not capable of performing with larger motorcycles. I also rate this low in hopes large motorcycle owners won't buy these tires and be out 500 dollars just for unsatisfactory tires.
Worst ever. Horrible grip in any moisture
I have about 6K on this back tire and was in a light rain in a freeway and the back of the big was kicking out left and right. No one should ever buy these. They are very unsafe unless it's perfectly dry roads. I even had them kick out on rail road tracks.
Great Traction ONLY 5K Miles
I purchased a set front and rear and had installed professionally on my '97 HD Fat Boy. 5000 miles in one season and the rear tire wore to the belts on the rear. The front looks like new! That being said the wet traction was exceptional! I rode in a heavy rain storm at 70mph on the highway with now loss of traction even through a few unexpected puddles.
